Spray Parks, Off-Leash Parks, and Outdoor Courts

Get Ready for Summer Fun

Spray Pads Set to Open this Weekend

With temperatures rising and summer just around the corner, residents looking for ways to make the most of the warm weather can find outdoor spaces in neighbourhoods all over the city. Spray pads, off-leash dog parks, outdoor courts and much more are ready for everyone to enjoy, with more fun to come as outdoor pools open in June.

Most of the City’s outdoor spray pad locations will open on Saturday, May 20. This is the perfect way to cool off and have some fun in the sun. Spray pads are located throughout the city and are easily operated with the push of a button. They are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until mid-September, weather permitting. The new Wascana Park spray pad will open along with the pool in June.

For families looking to relax, there are picnic spots in many City parks with nearby playgrounds. Discover one of four skateboard parks around town, or one of our many outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. Tennis and pickleball courts can be booked in advance or used on a first-come first-served basis, and basketball courts are first-come first-serve only.

In addition to five year-round off-leash parks, the City’s eight seasonal off-leash dog parks are ready for your furry friend. Eight outdoor boarded rinks are used as seasonal off-leash areas from May until September, providing an opportunity for dog owners and their dogs to exercise, play and socialize. Please don’t forget to clean up after your pet.

Outdoor recreation not only offers an escape from the daily routine but also numerous health benefits including physical exercise, stress relief and mental well-being.
